Another favorite in the wine country
by jjlasne
This is another favorite destination in the wine country. There is brewery on site and one can dine outdoor under awnings and vines by the river which gives it a definitely European flavor. Good beer and good food. Highly recommended.
Great dining for a good price

My fiance and I LOVE this place. It isnt pompous with pretentious partons, it isnt so expensive that you cant afford to do anything else, it is just plain good. The place is nice and cozy enough without being overly romantic and facny. It is laid back while maintaining an upscale quality. The food is spectacular, the service is outstanding, and the pricing is geat. You wont get ultra fancy food, but delicious food. I cant recommend a place more.
- Pros: service, food, price
- Cons: none
Napa Wine Tasting break
by mthoma
After going to Sterling Vineyards for wine tasting we came here for lunch on a Saturday. Good food, great waitress, lots of laughs. The berry crisp and ice cream was the to die for! The Calamari some of the best I've tasted in years. And it wasn't killer-crowded even thought this was Oct 16th, right in the middle of crush.
- Pros: Service, Parking, Food
Comfy lodgings above a lively microbrewery.

The Scene
Those who appreciate roadhouses of old will adore this turn-of-the-century inn. It sits along Calistoga's main street and offers stylish, comfortable rooms with shared baths at reasonable rates.
The Details
Accommodations in this stately brick two-story are all on the second floor and feature queen beds. While the rooms are basic, they are clean and bright, with wicker and white-painted wood. On the ground level guests will find Napa Beer, a microbrewery and restaurant that prepares entrees on a hardwood grill. The restaurant's pleasant outdoor patio is graced with fountains and overlooks the Napa River. Guests won't be able to resist the lively atmosphere downstairs---it is the center of the town's social scene in the summer season through harvest. With several handcrafted beers on hand, wine easily loses its place in the spotlight. If you're planning to visit on a weekend or holiday, book a room well in advance.
