Top Notch

I celebrated my birthday at Coles last night, as I did in 2006. Being a registered dietitian, and having > 25 years experience in the foodservice industry, I can be pretty picky when it comes to my dining experience. Everything was sublime from the arugala and roasted corn salad, to the grass fed 21 day aged ribeye (cooked perfectly as ordered), to the sauteed spinach, and the pinot noir. The service was fantastic. There is a beautiful outdoor patio, a nice bar, and it is located on Main Street in downtown Napa, so you can walk if you are staying in the downtown area.

Excellent food, stellar service and knowledgable about their wines, but NOT a $$ menu. Our dinner for two was $200 and worth every penny
GREAT Dining Experience!!

I consider myself a foodie, typically disappointed by one thing or another but this was a true dining experience!! My wife and I started off with two cocktails, she had a red pear martini which was an incredible cocktail all around and I had a local gin called 209. It was perfectly chilled. We started off with a grilled prawn cocktail, which had complimenting flavors and the prawns were sweet and tender. I ordered the New York steak (dry aged) which had an amazing dry aged flavor and a superb taste. My wife had a bone in Rib Eye, which was well marbled and very tender. Bother steaks were cooked as we had ordered. Hashbrowns were crisp on the outside, nice light and airy on the inside. The sauteed mushrooms were perfectly sauteed and drizzled with truffle oil. For dessert we shared an Apple Crisp with Vanilla Bean Gelato, YUM!! We were guided by the wine director who chose the '04 Hewitt Cab. from Rutherford, CA. classic Cab. and paired well with the steaks!! The server was professional and well educated about the menu. THe manager was very pleasant and over saw our dining experience. When we visit the area again we will always return to Cole's Chop House, it was truely an unforgettable experience.
- Pros: great steaks, spacious tables, unique cocktails and classic wine list
- Cons: parking, but has vallet only on weekends
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AT COLE'S CHOP HOUSE!

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! The pork chop was overcooked like a brick and the staff, manager and owner refused to take it off the bill. Coles' obviously does not stand behind the food they serve. Manager fought with me and insisted I pay for the overcooked pork chop, which I sent back after one bite. Tables are jammed one next to the other with zero privacy. It's sister restaurant Celedon is not good either. TERRIBLE!
- Cons: Food and service and attitude absolutely terrible.
Worst Customer Service Experience Ever

Worst Service in the history of dining. The wait staff was extremely rude toward our party and the food was well below average for what was billed and reviewed to be one of the best steak houses in Napa. Don't waste your time on this over-rated "Chop House." Try one of the many excellent chop houses in the city and steer clear of Coles in Napa.
- Pros: None
- Cons: Too many to mention, Service, Food Quality, etc.
Amazing experience end to end

Wow... Bravo Coles! There wasn't a single negative aspect about this dinner. The wedge salad, great. The steak, cooked perfectly. Two thumbs up to the pecan pie and apple crisp. Great service, great value, great great experience.
Thank you so much for an outstanding experience.
- Pros: salad, breakfast, cocktails, steak, service, valet, value
- Cons: that its in napa and not seattle :)
Atrocious Customer Service

I would strongly NOT recommend this restaurant to anyone, because of its customer service.. it is the worst I have ever experience in my 25 years of event planning. I was never given a chance to get to their food, which was rated by one of the customers leaving the restaurant as "mediocre", but after the rude treatment by the MANAGER when being seated, we left without eating. I will not return.
- Pros: Nice Music
- Cons: Customer Service Non Existant
The Ultimate Steak House

Thick Steaks, great red wine, and Sinatra music in the background. What's not to like ? Plus the food and service is top notch. My recent trip to Napa Valley was my first and I knew that the table of twelve I was hosting would appreciate a good start to our wine country experience. The staff was quite friendly and helpful, beginning with the bartender who generously assisted me in selecting a wine for dinner (tastings are quite useful in that regard). My guests completely enjoyed the Cole's Chop House ambiance, which includes sufficent room to enjoy the experience,i.e., you are not crammed into a space too small for the patrons. Of course the my New York Strip was great. It should be. Rave reviews from my guests told me that Cole's Chop House is the perfect venue for a dinner party. P.S. the Snowden Cab outpoints the Hall Cab, beyond any question.
- Pros: A top restaurant with an informal, neighborhood feel.
- Cons: None.
Excellent Food & Service

My wife & I both enjoyed Cole's thoroughly. Steak was best I've had in several years. Drinks were good, sides, appetizers, salad and desert all perfectly prepared. With a bottle of wine, we spent about $160 for the two of us, but felt the price was deserved. We will definitely be returning. Must have a reservation.
- Pros: Everything
- Cons: Pricey, but worth it
Really, Really Great Food

I love Coles - the food and service is always excellent, They know how to cook a steak (or lamb for that matter) - you ask for it cooked just as you want it and thats how it comes - everytime. Their hashbrowned potatoes are to die for. Great selection of sides, which are good sized so easy to share. Bartenters are always fun and make a great drink. They also have outdoor seating which on a warm summer night is fantastic. Can't say enough about it. Only downfall is it is pretty expensive, but you get what you pay for.
- Pros: Food, Staff
- Cons: Price (but it's worth it)
