Swedish MassageSwedish massage is the basis for all our massages here at Indian Springs. It combines long strokes, kneading & friction techniques on the upper layer of muscle tissue. It can be combined w/ the active & passive movement of the joints.
Deep TissueThis treatment focuses on the deeper levels of specific muscle groups. It releases chronic patterns of tension in the body by applying deep finger, fist & elbow pressure across the grain of the muscles & tendons. Deep tissue is not considered massage but therapy work. Accupressure: A system of finger pressure massage which treats specific points along acupuncture "meridians" ~ the invisible channels of energy flow in the body. Blocked energy along these meridians can cause physical discomfort. The focus is to release the blocks & re-balance the energy flow.
Cranial Sacral TherapyHands-on work is focused on the head, spinal cord & lower spine. Gentle pressure is applied around the scalp & down to the base of the spine, helping to remove blockages to the cerebral-spinal fluid. Relieves headaches & boosts the immune system. Optimal effects are received in a full session massage. Cranial Sacral therapy is not considered a massage. Energy work: Clears, charges & balances the body's electric system, chakras & energy field. A light touch, gentle manipulation & holding are used in this technique. Pressure is not needed. The change is reflected & experienced in the physical body.
