Wineries >Prager Winery & Port Works
I love this place. This place is a real hoot but the Ports are fantastic. The tasting room is off of a dusty little road. When you see the tasting room you'd never expect to taste what you will if you wander inside. On your way to the tasting room you'll pass barrels full of ageing port. The tasting room is small and cozy with currency from around the world stapled on the walls and ceilings. It's a change from the typical tasting rooms. Ask to see the first web site operating on windows. They have it here. You'll love it. The ports are exceptional and several of them can be put down for additional years. Be sure that you try their white port. They also have a 2 room B&B.
A rare find on the road to Calistoga: one of the few port works around..
When you enter the Prager tasting room, you may feel a bit like you've landed in a hybrid gentleman's club and mad scientist's hideaway. You'll find large Oriental-style rugs covering the floor; a humidor houses cigars for sale, and a large window is covered with generations of spiders' webs--the winery's "web site." Father and sons pour the tastings and tell you about their unique ports.
