Nice high end Italian in Napa. The wine selection was large, as it should be in the middle of wine country.

The service was very charming and the duck was prepared perfectly

Disappointing given the ambiance. The property is really cool and we got a chance to soak it all in while we waited for a table near the bar. Their wine selection is pretty decent and I ended up with a nice merlot from Clearwater Creek. We started with beef carpaccio and mozzarella with garlic and olive oil bread, which were fantastic together. However, our mains (my girlfriend had the rigatoni alla carbonara, with guanciale bacon and parmesan while I had maltagliati verde with slow-cooked pork and sangiovese wine sugo) were both terribly salty and overpowering in general. I liked how the rigatoni was spicy but the sauce was just too strong, while my maltagliati (which apparently means badly-cut pasta?) simply tasted like meat and was also far too strong a dish, demanding loads of red wine to wash it all down. A friend ordered the ribeye steak which was tasty if not a bit average. Overall it seemed like the restaurant catered to rich people who have no taste buds because they've been downing wine samples all day (or at this point are too drunk to care what their food tastes like). Another friend mentioned their lunches were decent, so I'd be up for that before ever having dinner here again. On the plus side, we drank so much water with dinner that we won't have hangovers tomorrow!

beautiful decor inside and out, friendly staff, delicious food. I recently dined at Tra Vigne during a visit to wine country and after a long day of wine tasting. Made reservations through opentable and was seated immediately. The decor is beautiful instide and the courtyard seating is as well. We had the smoked mozzerella ravioli which was very tasty, and the rigatoni carbanara which was equally delivious. The wait staff was very friendly and attentive, and I would gladly return and would highly recommend Tra Vigne for anyone in the area.

tre rude. According to some people, this is one of the best place to eat in Napa. Well don't waste your time and your money. This place is awfull. I ordered a prosciutto and tomato sandwich but somehow the prosciutto was missing from my sandwich. My friend ordered pappardelle pasta with tomato sauce for $14, something simple, and it was flavorless. The menu is very limited and boring, so are the people who worked there.

When I complaint to the management, the manager attitude was very rude. He stood by the front door and waited for me to leave, as if I become a nuisance. I guess by expressing my opinion, I was not longer welcome. I'm in the restaurant business myself, and I have never felt so much arrogance in one place.

In my opinion, one of the worse restaurant in Napa.

LIKED THE LAST REVIEW....LOL (DOG IN A HIGH END RESTAURANT)....HMMMM?. First of all the food and atmosphere are fantastic. Most of my guests were a little

upset with there food (to bland) or overcooked. I was happy as a bee eating my SOLE.....yummy!

My overall experience was fantastic - I would recommend this place to anyone

visiting the Napa Valley.

HORRIBLE customer service. It was the worst service I experience in the wine country!!!!!! We are dog owners so it's very important to visit a restaurant with patio seating. We've visited Tra Vigne's website and it was also a highly recommended one from a friend who lives locally, so we thought it should be a great spot to enjoy our evening. We called early to make an appointment, and requested a patio table since we have a dog. It was July 5th and the wine country was having a huge heat wave, and we were early to the area and had to wandering around the area under the sun while feeling dehydrated. Finally the wait was over. I went up to the hostess, and guess what he said? "I am sorry but we have a private party at the patio, and we will not be seating anyone outside."

'But I have requested a patio table since I have a dog?"

"yes, we have a note here that you've requested that..... But we can seat you inside and place your dog under shades."

What kind of non-sense is this? Place my dog under the cruel weather while I enjoy myself inside with air conditioning and a glass of chilled wine? I don't think so.

If there was a private party, why didn't they tell me while I made the reservation? I called the same day for the dinner reservation! And if for some "strange reason", that private party made a reservation AFTER I made mine, wouldn't you have the curtisy to give me a call and try to help me out? I believe this kind of customer service is not a top rated restaurant would have.

We were at Angele, Dean and Deluca, Vi Satui winery, The Bistro at Sonoma, and Cindy's back street kitchen, and everyone was so accommodating and sincere eventhough they all had to serve us under the sizzling heat.

That night, we ended up going to Cindy's back street kitchen. FABULOUS! super friendly and accommodating to my dog and us, amazing service. Dog owners beware of Tra Vigne.

Beautiful Setting. Sitting outside is recommended; it is beautiful. The food was good; the wines by the glass were fitting. Afterward we took a stroll. Amazing!

Surprisingly good after all these years. Had lunch with a party of 6 last Saturday. Had been at least 5 years since I had been their last. Food was suprisingly excellent. Loved the fritto misto, beet rissoto, Agnolotti (sp?) with lamb, all of the Contorni were great. Service was OK at best. Waiter definitely not "in tune" with our needs - water, wine glasses going empty, forgetting to open our second bottle, etc... Highly recommend for a lunch of grazing. Overall impressive considering the size of this place.

User review by miasmom. Seated promplty, but noticed others having a difficult time being seated. Some patrons waiting became annoyed and left beofre being seated.

Attractive dining room, but got very noisey after 7pm.

Recap of food:

Appetizers- calamari a bit bland, sauce could have been seasoned more. Antipasti plate basic, not thrilling.

Salads- not enough dressing

Main course- Squash ravioli, excellent! Short ribs, outstanding!!!

Too stuffed for desert.

Huge Dissapointment. I guess I asked for it because I went after reading all of these terrible reviews but I had wanted to go to this place for a long time and was finally going to be in the Napa area so I hoped that everyone was wrong. They were not. Don't waste your money at this place when there are so many other wonderful restaurants in Napa. We had the grilled calamari for appetizer which was ok, then split the papardelle with duck ragu - no taste at all and then the lamb which was incredibly tough. $120 dollars later, I left annoyed and hungry because I didn't even finish my food. The only thing good about this place is the staff - they were all very nice.
