irst opened in 1948, this pink-and-white striped landmark in Central Napa draws die-hard locals like flies to a frosted donut. Tourists revel in the charm of being barked at by the less-than-charming waitresses, but locals know they’re all dolls at heart. From short stacks to sticky buns to chicken-fried steak, the cheap (think 75 cents a donut) and caloric (don’t think about that) food keeps some coming back seven days a week.

Awesome Pastries.
I can't speak for the breakfasts, I'm more of a breakfast pastry eater than bacon and eggs, but I've always loved the pastries and donuts. I usually get a scone, apricot danish, or doughnut cinnamon roll, but the morning bun I had last week was incredible. I didn't even know they had these! The only thing more incredible than the taste was the price. It was only 75 cents compared to over $2 at another local bakery. The other prices are just as good.

poor service-worse attitude.
I would describe Butter Cream Bakery in one word - can't - because that is all I heard and saw while I was there. Can't find your order. Can't help you. Can't get someone who can help. Can't call anyone. Can't look further than one clipboard. Can't take pre orders. Can't take checks. Can't take an order for a cake without payment in advance. Can't smile or be helpful.
What happened to the great bakery with the friendly help? They are gone.
