Do not ship with Aero Packing. About a
week after we returned from Napa, a customer service representative called and queried whether we wanted the shipper to hold the wine till temperatures dropped. I was impressed by their outreach. However, this was short lived. I advised that if the wine would be held, it would have to be shipped to a different address as I was about to move. Unfortunately, Aero Packing shipped the wine to the old address. One could assume the new tenant would reach out to forward the package. This didn't happen. When I contacted Aero packing about the problem, I requested they contact me on my cell. Apparently, the institutional lack of attention to detail continued and the shipper called a different number. Eventually, I spoke with a representative who explained the process where a claim would be filed with Fed ex for $100 max, then aero packing would file a claim with their insurance and then the person who made the mistake would pay the shipping. I should have told them to save it at the time because that is a bs way to resolve a mistake a company made. Common sense would say Aero Packing would reimburse me immediately for the loss or send me the wines I lost and then go through insurance claims for their own loss. I am now 2.5 months into this ordeal and haven't received reimbursement yet. aero Packing can't replace the wines because they are no longer available. One would also think that Aero packing would be proactive and regularly reach out to let me know the current status of the claim. However, I have had to keep reaching out to find out the status.
I reached out to the hotel where we lodged to advise of the issue and to request any available assistance. Unfortunately, La Residence in Napa did not want to get involved in the claim process and assured me aero packing was doing everything it could. 2.5 months with no resolution clearly shows Aero Packing's poor customer service and La Residence's poor judgement/support for a second rate shipper.
I would not ship anything with Aero Packing.
Best shipper in California.
I have been using Aero Packing for the past 6 years. The way they pack the bottles guarantees that you will not have a broken bottle in the case, no matter how many states they travel through! I even had some irregular shaped bottles that they wrapped a custom- made styrofoam cushion, to prevent breakage...brilliant!
I highly recommend this company, and will be using them again in a few weeks....and for years to come!
Also, when you are there, ask for Rachel. She is always smiling, always friendly and super helpful!! Thanks, Rachel
Best shipper for the last 14 years. I have been visiting Napa for the last 14 years and after using a different shipper on the first visit, have used Aero Packing every year since then. The shipments have always arrived in excellent condition and the one time that a shipment was opened and a bottle stolen by a worker at the airport, they cheerfully replaced it. Aero Packing has security measures in place to make sure that the shipment is intact when it leaves their facility. I live in San Antonio and considering how hot it is there, have never had a problem with hot/ruined wine. BTW, the styrofoam inserts are definitely NOT flimsy.
Don't ship with them!. Went on my first visit to Napa recently and when I had selected the 12 wines I loved, the Wine Country Inn shipped it for us using Aero Packing and I thought all would be good. I live in Florida where it's usually in the 90's and my wine arrived HOT since it had been placed in a flimsy styrofoam box with no cooling packs. Over $700 in wine was ruined and the manager at Aero could only say "you didn't request the cooling packs". I didn't think I had to tell a packing company how to pack wine that's being shipped to sunny South Florida. Would NEVER use them again!!
