Terrible Terrible Place to take anything.....
June 4th,2008 I dropped my Hitatchi t.v. (model#43fdx20b) Serial# v2e002449 off at Abes Electronics.
After calling him several times in October asking where it is, he stated on October 14,2008 that our tv. was ready for pick up. My husband went there that eve and signed a c.c. charge assuming our tv was in full working order. 15 minutes later after getting it home, we realized the screws were missing out of the whole front pannel of t.v., the tv did not work and as part of the invoice charge, he was to clean the lenses, they were so filthy, you could not see the picture onthe tv.. We then called Abe that night within 30 minutes of picking up our tv..He stated that he was too busy to pick up the t.v. but would the next day. He came over and picked it up and we showed him all the issues of which none were fixed that we paid him for. He took the t.v. that night.
I called Abe and asked him to credit my master card until my t.v. was completed. He refgused saying that he would NOT do that under ANY CIRCUMSTANCE since he has so much time involved in this tv.I called my c.c. company November 3rd and put a dispute in and he is challenging it. Meanwhile I am paying him for services clearly not rendered and he still has my t.v.
I contacted Channel 7 on your side because I was not getting anywhere with ABE (the owner).
After several conversations,the t.v. still sits in his shop not repaired, he has charged my c.c. and will not release my t.v. due to the fact that I have contacted 7 on your side for help in getting my t.v. back.
Today, December 19th, I called him to see if the tv. was done yet and that I was going to have family come this Sunday the 21st of December.
He has continued to state my t.v. was completed with repairs but that he will not give me my t.v. back until channel 7 on your side visits him to see that he has fixed it. I told him that was rediculous. Let me just get my t.v. back.
In the meantime, I have had several conversations with Abe trying to resolve this, but he is so mad that he is holding my t.v. hostage as well as fighting my c.c. for getting the charge he originally charged me.
Today December 19th, 2008 I put another call into my credit card company to let them know that he has my t.v, it is completed but he will not release it until Channel 7 on your side visits him.
ABE proceeded to tell me "you will not get your tv. for a long time, so dont plan to have it back by the time your family gets to town" I am completely furious and apoled that he can run a business like this!

Great Friendly Service Repair Facility.
Abe's is one of the nicest facilities I have ever dealt with, they are helpful, pleasant, friendly and very customer oriented. I went into their shop with my television that was not turning on and I had no idea why.
Before the day was out Abe's called me down to the shop and told me that there was no problem with my tv other then the fact that the plug in the back was not making a good connection. I went down to the facility to pick up my set and asked them how much I owed them and they told me nothing. I found them to be very honest and honorable, because I am an old person and I do not know anything about Electronics and I would have been willing to pay to fix this set. Some people in my experience tend to try to take advantage of the aging. I am very happy with Abe's because I live on a very fixed imcome and these are trying times.
They also cleaned my remote control for me and did not charge me for that either. It is nice to see that there are still good people out there to do good deeds and not take advantage of one just because they could. I would recommend this facility to anyone and thank them again for their honesty. I will take all my TV's and electronics to Abe's. He has won my confidence.
Not recommended. I wanted to fix an older TV rather than send it to the recycling pile, so my wife and I agreed to try Abe's. What I thought would be a simple repair (there was no debate what was wrong) took them two attempts to fix correctly for a grand total of $120.00 -- more than the price of the original set. The plastic casing was in pristine condition -- clean and without defects. Yet on both occasions when I picked it up it was covered in dirty fingerprints, stains and pencil marks, and by the second time noticed it had been cracked on the side. There was no apology offered -- no admission of guilt. Rather, the owners wanted to set-up a confrontation between me and the repairman to "find out the truth" of what condition the set was when my wife took it in. Oh, and the guy (I guess Abe) flirts with the females customers. My wife said it was a little creepy. Forget Abe's.
Abe's Electronics. So i call up the manufaturer of my TV and they tell me to search local electronis stores to bring it to so it can be fixed. Thats when i found Abe's Electronics. First impression super nice guy. He comes picks up my tv dose some paper work and tells me he'll call me the next day to tell me what is wrong. Next day comes no call....2 weeks pass no call. So i call. Receptionist tells me he is busy and cannot help me at the time and that he would call me back momentaraly. Another day passes, and still no abe. I call again .. abe picks up tells me he is sorry for all my waiting, then tells me he's going to check on the status of my tv and call me back in a half hour. Not only did he not call back but when i called back and complained that i have not recieved any info about my tv the woman said ill be contacted in a few minutes and tells me she can't help me right now. So im aggrivated and i call LG and complain to them that the ABE wasn't doing a damn thing and that i want it looked at by somone else. So they immediatly call abes and no one answered they couldnt get intouch with them so they tell me to have it droped off at my place and it would be picked up by an lg rep when i call. After chasing abe and calling atleast 50 times i got my tv returned 8 weeks later with no repairs. When the TV comes back it still had the same pixles blown out.. the ones he said his techs couldnt see i showed him. So he had a tech come out and look that night looked at it and i never heird from them again. By far the worst customer service i have ever had i do not recommend that anyone uses them for any reason. And if you do.. good luck cause you will not see your possesions for a long time. L.G. fixed the TV and had it back in 1 week 3 days... ABE's over 7 weeks ..
Great work, fantastic customer service. I took my television to Abe's after having a horrible experience with another repair shop that said they fixed the problem... but it broke again a few months later. Abe's fixed my television, they were cheaper than the other shop, very nice, and my t.v. is still working a year later! So I used them again, this time for an old VCR that I really like (yes, I know they're obsolete, but I like mine and I still have a stash of VHS tapes!) Again, they fixed this, no problem, very reasonably priced, and they are just nice to deal with all around. They make supporting small business easy!
Great Service, Great Price, Good People.. My experience with Abe's was that they were honest with me about my repair and did it in a timely fashion. I have taken multiple things to them and some times they tell me the thing is worth fixing, other times they tell me it may be worth buying something new even though that would mean a loss of profit for them. Also, they are great at honoring their warranty. I understand the repair industry can be tricky especially trying to get parts from big companies like Sony, but Abe's has always been honest with me about how long something would take, and let me know if any changes had to be made before hand.
Terrible customer service (non service).
I believe in supporting local businesses and make it a point to seek out specialized service when I can. I had a JVC DVD theater receiver which needed a new extractor door for the CD/DVD disks. After paying the non refundable $35 for "Abe" to take a look, I waited. I waited 3 weeks and not one call back, so I called. The receptionist stated she would get me an answer right away as to what the problem might be with the unit. A week later I called again. This time I was told I would get an answer by the end of the week. It is now 3 days past the end of the week and have heard nothing.
I was fed up with the lack of customer care with this business, I told Abe I would be coming in the next day to take my unit back. He gave me a lot of excuses but after a month of this I don't care. All I wanted was some feedback on what was happening!
Avoid this business and seek out other local repair services, don't waste your time or money.
