Business and pleasure converge at this Napa lodge.. The Scene
This rustic lodge is situated on 24 picturesque wine country acres. Although it is popular with business conferences, the style is anything but corporate. Three post-and-beam structures offer the feel of an English Tudor estate done with a contemporary flair.

The Details
The property is surrounded by vineyards, a rose garden and a meandering creek. With its tennis courts and putting green, it is the perfect place for combining work and play. The Inn on the Knoll houses spacious accommodations, while the Inn on the Vineyard has a large Great Room with winery views. Several themed guest rooms include Western Rooms, Safari Rooms and Oriental Rooms. Events held in the conference center can be catered on-site. The property even has a full winery for its own eponymous vintages.

Drawn and Quartered. The Silver Rose Inn might seem perfect for someone looking to get away from it all: theme rooms and a secluded swimming pool all tucked away in the quiet setting of grape vines and trees, accessible only by way of a narrow side road. However, don't expect the spa treatment to add to your relaxation. The tubs are outdated and noisy and the massage I received would have given been better suited for a medieval dungeon. It was so painful and the masseuse was so unfriendly that it hardly bothered me that she cut my one hour massage short by fifteen minutes without adjusting the cost. To top it off, the massage table had a sharp piece of metal protruding from it, which resulted in a three inch long cut along the side of my face. Next time I'll save my money and go straight to the Iron Maiden.
