Citysearch Editorial Review.
Food and wine mogul Leslie Rudd (read: he owns the Dean and Deluca next door) brings his familiar styling to chic St. Helena. A massive central fireplace and towering indoor fir trees embellish the otherwise understated space. Elegant out-of-towner diners--this place is a little too pricey for locals--sink into plush down pillows along the banquette, and watch as menu items grow right along the restaurant walls in a well-lit, outdoor garden. Although vegetables are seasonal, the carnivorous menu runs year round. Local, raw oysters and a tenderloin steak tartare make for popular apps, while a dozen different wood-grilled steaks and chops comprise the entrée options.
