Top Notch

I celebrated my birthday at Coles last night, as I did in 2006. Being a registered dietitian, and having > 25 years experience in the foodservice industry, I can be pretty picky when it comes to my dining experience. Everything was sublime from the arugala and roasted corn salad, to the grass fed 21 day aged ribeye (cooked perfectly as ordered), to the sauteed spinach, and the pinot noir. The service was fantastic. There is a beautiful outdoor patio, a nice bar, and it is located on Main Street in downtown Napa, so you can walk if you are staying in the downtown area.
- Pros: All
- Cons: None
Great but spendy

Excellent food, stellar service and knowledgable about their wines, but NOT a $$ menu. Our dinner for two was $200 and worth every penny
GREAT Dining Experience!!

I consider myself a foodie, typically disappointed by one thing or another but this was a true dining experience!! My wife and I started off with two cocktails, she had a red pear martini which was an incredible cocktail all around and I had a local gin called 209. It was perfectly chilled. We started off with a grilled prawn cocktail, which had complimenting flavors and the prawns were sweet and tender. I ordered the New York steak (dry aged) which had an amazing dry aged flavor and a superb taste. My wife had a bone in Rib Eye, which was well marbled and very tender. Bother steaks were cooked as we had ordered. Hashbrowns were crisp on the outside, nice light and airy on the inside. The sauteed mushrooms were perfectly sauteed and drizzled with truffle oil. For dessert we shared an Apple Crisp with Vanilla Bean Gelato, YUM!! We were guided by the wine director who chose the '04 Hewitt Cab. from Rutherford, CA. classic Cab. and paired well with the steaks!! The server was professional and well educated about the menu. THe manager was very pleasant and over saw our dining experience. When we visit the area again we will always return to Cole's Chop House, it was truely an unforgettable experience.
- Pros: great steaks, spacious tables, unique cocktails and classic wine list
- Cons: parking, but has vallet only on weekends
